Having studied journalism and strategic communication, marketing has always been a natural fit. I’ve worked in a few different industries, but I keep finding myself back in financial services. I love being able to research and gain a deeper understanding of a client, market, and product; I love working with a team to brainstorm strategy, tactics, and deliverables. Bringing these things together helps create meaningful and effective marketing for clients, and working in alternative investments adds a level of complexity and nuance that keeps the work challenging but also rewarding.
After completing my senior college capstone project with Edward Jones’ home office in St. Louis I was pretty sure I wanted nothing more to do with the world of compliance and then-NASD approvals. What I discovered was other industries didn’t hold my interest and I missed the challenge financial services provided.
I found my career path at Dividend Capital a few years out college, where I had the fortune to work with Cherie Fournier and Alise Lucero for five years. During my time there, I grew my industry knowledge and, with the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects and products while learning from senior leadership not only in marketing but also in sales, asset management, research, legal and product management, I catapulted my growth as a marketer in alternative investments.
I left to stay home with my two children and kept up my marketing skills, doing intermittent contract work both in and out of financial services and assisting my husband with marketing for his business as a financial advisor. Now that our kids are nearly grown, I am beyond excited to be back working with Cherie, Alise, and the entire Marketing Intent team.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time traveling with my family. When not traveling, you can find us trying new restaurants, cheering at a baseball or hockey game, hiking in the mountains, or skiing the Colorado resorts.
